David Walliams parted ways with publishing house.

The comedian

Acclaimed children's author and TV personality David Walliams has parted ways with his UK book publisher, as confirmed by the firm.

An official for the company said: "After careful consideration, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish future works by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was reached following an inquiry regarding reports of inappropriate behaviour towards female individuals.

The firm did not confirm the motivations for this action, stating: "It is not our policy to discuss confidential company decisions."

An Illustrious Literary Career

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, boasting over in excess of 60 million copies worldwide in 55 languages.

His inaugural foray into kids' literature, *The Boy in the Dress*, was released through HarperCollins in 2008.

Several of his books, for example *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have also been adapted into TV movies.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books in total, which features a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was published by HarperCollins last autumn.

A Dual Career

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has also won National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE back in 2017 in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.

The publisher's decision comes after the selection of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive this past October.
