Over a fortnight subsequent to the heartbreaking passing of renowned film director Rob Reiner and his wife, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues are still paying respects to the duo.

A Heartfelt Farewell: Cary Elwes Pays Tribute to His Director

Writing on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who was featured in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he just recently felt able to post publicly about his personal sorrow.

"Enough time has elapsed that I can now express my sorrow into words," posted Elwes, adding that his first meeting with Reiner created an instant bond. "As we began sharing more moments together I knew this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor posted archival material from the production, remarking that he doesn't recollect "a single day without mirth".

"The movie is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Values that Rob cherished deeply. Which is among the many reasons he was the best person to direct it," Elwes continued.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a great team would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I remember you." He finished with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Indeed, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Reflects on a Fellow Artist

In a distinct essay, revered director Martin Scorsese shared memories of Reiner, whom he initially encountered in the 1970s.

"Right away, I loved spending time with Rob. We had a natural affinity for each other. He was uproarious and sometimes sharply witty, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, embodying the father of the main character.

"His improvisation skills with the best. He was a expert at comedy, he worked seamlessly with the cast, and he understood the personal struggle of his character," Scorsese wrote.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Withheld

In a new development, a Los Angeles court official agreed to block the disclosure of the Reiners' post-mortem findings, after an appeal from the local authorities.

A legal directive issued a restriction on the cases to limit the public release of "any investigative information, notes, reports or photos" connected to the probe.

The coroner's office had earlier stated their deaths were the outcome of foul play, with a public database noting the cause as "wounds from an edged weapon".

Fallout and Commentary

Following the deaths, public personalities expressed divergent reactions.

Former President Donald Trump wrote on the matter, offering provocative claims that were broadly criticized by many public figures.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his criticism to the those speaking out recently. Talking on his program, Rogan labeled the comments as "disturbing" and suggested they demonstrated a worrisome lack of empathy.

Rogan finished by suggesting that an aide ought to have acted when the impulse to speak on the death was made.
